Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to operate High Voltage (H.V.) switchgear
- Safety precautions when operating High Voltage (H.V.) switchgears are identified, in accordance with Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, industry standards and workplace procedures
- Identify H.V. switch gear type and determine correct operation, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Examine and assess H.V. switchgear conditions for safe operation, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Suppress H.V. switchgear related protection, where necessary, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Personnel participating in work are briefed and roles and responsibilities are confirmed, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Conduct H.V.switch gear operations
- Implications of proposed work actions are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures
- H.V. switchgear is operated and its' status is confirmed, in accordance with workplace procedures
- H.V. switchgear racking, testing, isolation, circuit earthing and reinstatement processes are carried out, in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and workplace procedures
- Test equipment integrity is confirmed, and H.V. switchgear is de-energised, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Validate H.V. switchgearintegrity
- H.V. switchgear environment is inspected, in accordance with workplace procedures, to ensure it meets all statutory and industry requirements
- Complete documentation
- Documentation is updated, in accordance with workplace procedures
